Cancellations and Refunds.

If you decide to cancel your booking a refund will only be given where a minimum of 72 hours’ notice is given, please email us
info@helmsleyopenairpool.org
to request cancellation of a session booking providing:

  • The email address used to make the booking.
  • The name your booking is under
  • The reference number provided on your ticket.

No refunds or exchanges will be given for unused tickets or where the customers cannot make the session/event they have purchased tickets for if 72 hours’ notice is not given.

Bad Weather Policy

Sessions are never cancelled due to forecasts or predictions of bad weather. We do not cancel sessions in advance due to lightning risk or forecast – since action is needed only if we judge that a storm has come within 6 miles of the pool, and this cannot be predicted specifically in advance.

In the event of thunder/lightning, we follow ROSPA guidance which indicates that when, in the judgement of the lifeguarding team, the lightning is within around 6 miles of the Pool, then we need to clear the pool. We only allow returning to the pool 30 mins after the last rumble of thunder.  We reserve the right to end a session early or start a session late, due to lightning.

We would of course consider refunds in such circumstances depending on how much of the session was left and/or how much later that advertised the session started.

Sessions are never cancelled due to the forecast bad weather.

Lockdown

If there is a national lockdown and the pool is forced to close during this time, all sessions will be cancelled automatically, and you will receive a full ticket refund.
